                   IT'S ALL ABOUT MY MAMA

If any of you have been around me for like 5 minutes..hahaha..you KNOW my Mama is my heart! Many years ago I painted a mural (border) in her dining room! When I was visiting her for a couple weeks in the summer, while I did my art shows, I decided to paint her a floorcloth!

As it has been with all the floorcloths I have painted, to the best of my knowledge, no one ever put them on the floor. Mom left it rolled up in the closet for safekeeping. You guessed it; "That is just too pretty to walk on." Okay, you can do it your way.

Well, when she died my family asked if I wanted it and of course I said YES! Yes, it is on the floor here.

This is indicative of the work I did back then and still do, although I have taken a fancy to abstract (these few weeks) and am excited to create some "long-form" art.

Yes, I create commissioned art! I love creating these floorcloths and if this is what you fancy, just ask! I have created so many with so many themes so it is your pick! Ask me your topic/choice/theme and we can discuss it.

You can see some here (click the cloth)

                                                              IT'S A HE-ART PARTY!

 Love Lives here!

Ah, hearts have always been my love and I see them everywhere. When I paint them it is even better. You see, when love lives here, deep inside my own heart, it is easy to see love everywhere. Do hearts magically appear in front of me? No.

Because I am aware and alert to where hearts are: in nature, in art, and life in general, then I see them. Because I am a collector of hearts, in people and in life, they show up! People send me hearts, buy hearts for me, and otherwise share their hearts with me.

This is why I paint them too! It adds to the love in the world as well as in my own heart. I love my "heartpourings" whether in word or artwork.

I hope you do too!

Much Love,

Artist, Bette

YES I AM STILL PAINTING!!!

             TIME FOR SOME SALSA DANCING!

HI THERE!!! I am dropping in to share a fun project I did! I loved doing this so much!
I have been, for quite some time, been playing with watercolors! OOO la what fun!
It all started when I was asked by Ronnie to make some paintings to illustrate his living food philosophy book.

Commissioned are for a book? How cool! Okay, wait.  He paid me big bucks and I created the paintings. THEN HE FOUND OUT IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE to put photos in a book. OY!

Although accustomed to acrylics, we both wanted a medium more suited to his book, as it was to "grow organically"!
So I played with the softer and more delicate tones of watercolor!! What fun, fun, fun!!

I was grateful for this experience!

Look Up!

This is a mural on the ceiling I created in my sister's massage/healing room! This picture you see is exactly as you would see if you were lying there for a massage!

Details of Pooh Mural

OH POOH BEAR!

I was so excited to be commissioned to paint this mural in a naturopaths office in Danbury, Ct. Oh yes, it made me feel like a kid again!

When I was a kid we did not do much in the way of outings except go swimming in the creek (eek what just touched my leg!).

I do recall a couple movies and Pooh was a part of that at some point. Such fun! It never left me to this day!

Here is a few detailed pictures of The "Pooh's Balloon Bliss" Mural.
